Ricerca 2 postdoc presso Gaslini (Genova) per studi pre-clinici di terapia genetica per malattie genetiche del sistema immunitario

The Center for Autoinflammatory Diseases and Immunodeficiency at Gaslini Institute in Genova, Italy, is looking for two highly motivated postdoctoral researchers to conduct preclinical studies on gene therapy for genetic diseases of the immune system. The successful candidates will work on a FIS funded project (5 years grant) to test novel gene editing strategies using induced pluripotent stem cell derived from patients with autoinflammatory diseases.


The ideal candidate must have a PhD or equivalent lab experience and a strong background in translational immunology or genetic engineering

The Successful Candidate Should Have:

· Experience with cell biology (cell culture, pluripotent stem cell, FACS) and molecular biology (cloning, transfection) techniques

· Good communication skills and ability/willingness to integrate within the research group

· Good knowledge of written and spoken English

The salary will depend on qualifications and experience.

The Center for Autoinflammatory diseases and Immunodeficiencies of Gaslini Children’s Hospital is one of the main referral centers for autoinflammatory disease in Italy and is responsible for the Eurofever registry, which has longitudinally been collecting more than 4,000 patients from 69 centers in 45 countries ( Preclinical research of the center focuses on the development of novel therapeutic strategies through gene editing approaches, characterization of disease mechanism by the development of animal and iPS cell models and identification of novel genetic conditions.

The Istituto Giannina Gaslini is a multidisciplinary, highly specialized Public Children’s Hospital and Research Institute located in Genoa, Italy. The Institute is a national and international reference center with main research programs in rheumatology, immunology, and autoinflammatory diseases; innovative diagnostic-therapeutic strategies and rare diseases; pediatric sciences, surgery, and neonatology; hematology, oncology, and cell therapies; muscular and neurologic diseases.
